I was recently approached by a local musician, Don Smith, who needed some shots of him and his guitar. Don was playing here in Sylvan and needed some new posters to advertise the performance.
We kept things pretty casual and I let Don act natural and play his guitar. I got him to position himself in an area I could move about and take shots at various angles. We both moved around and left the lights where they were and captured some unique looks. Fortunately, negative space is not only one of my favorite styles to shoot, but it also worked well for Dons poster since he would be adding text to the image later on. Below is a variety of my favorites from the shoot.
